Grace's water-treatment plant
An illustrative story. The people and companies in it are fictional.
- Many assets, many hands Grace manages maintenance at a water-treatment plant: pumps, motors, blowers, valves, generators and switchgear, serviced by her own technicians and a handful of specialist contractors.
- Rugged, locked tags Each asset carries an on-metal, weather-rated ServiceTag, permanently locked once it is written. The tag identifies the asset; it never opens anything by itself.
- One attributed record Her team and every contractor record their work against the same assets. Entries are never edited after the fact; corrections are added as amendments.
- A controlled handover when a contractor leaves When a contractor's authorization ends, so does its access. The planned handover lets Grace's authorized team keep the equipment's tag and shared history in place while granting the next specialist only the access they approve.
